“Hi. I am Nick Diroberto and I bring almost two decades of experience in deck building and outdoor construction. My passion for quality craftsmanship and innovative design is the backbone of our company. When I am not on-site ensuring every project meets our high standards, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family.”

My name is Christian Kraehmer, and I am the Chief Executive Officer and one of the contractors at Smoky Mountain Deck Builders. My passion for construction is rooted in a commitment to quality, integrity, and creating outdoor spaces that bring families and friends together. Every project is an opportunity to transform a vision into something lasting, functional, and beautiful.

As CEO, I oversee the direction and growth of the company while remaining closely involved in the work we do each day. I believe strong leadership begins with leading by example, treating people with respect, and maintaining a commitment to excellence in every aspect of the business. My goal is to build a company culture that values hard work, accountability, innovation, and exceptional customer service.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience creating a wide variety of outdoor projects, from custom decks and covered porches to boardwalks, docks, pavilions, and other unique structures. Every project has presented its own challenges and opportunities, reinforcing my belief that with the right team, the right mindset, and a commitment to excellence, there is no limit to what can be accomplished. I take pride in bringing ideas to life through quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a dedication to building spaces that are both beautiful and built to last.

“I joined the amazing team at Smoky Mountain Deck Builders in June 2024, after years of watching the company grow into East Tennessee’s premier deck builder. I bring over eight years of experience in the construction industry, including two years as a manager at 84 Lumber and five years as a Dealer Sales Representative for Simpson Strong-Tie in East Tennessee. My time with Simpson Strong-Tie has been especially valuable, providing me with a solid foundation in structural integrity, ensuring that everything we build is made to last. Before joining Smoky Mountain Deck Builders, I took a four-year break from construction starting in 2020 to serve with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and later with Knox County School Security. Now, I’m proud to be back in the building world and part of a team that’s raising the bar for outdoor living.”
